    About Travis Layton

Travis Layton, known online as “Trav in the Bush,” is a Canadian bird photographer, educator, and workshop leader. Before pursuing photography, he spent nearly five years as a wilderness guide leading multi-day hiking, sea kayaking, and dog-sledding expeditions across Canada. Today, Travis leads bird photography workshops and creates educational content that has reached hundreds of thousands of nature enthusiasts online. In 2025, he became a Nikon Canada Ambassador. Drawing on his experience in both wilderness guiding and photography, Travis helps photographers better understand bird behaviour, improve their fieldcraft, and create stronger wildlife images.
